Course syllabus

  1. 1

    Chapter 1

    Foundations

    • What Crypto Actually Is 7 min

Crypto is a digital asset recorded on a shared ledger. Its price comes only from what others will pay.

    • Legal Position and Tax in India 8 min

Crypto isn't banned, but it's taxed hard: 30% on gains, 1% TDS on transfers, and losses can't be offset.

  2. 2

    Chapter 2

    Holding safely

    • Wallets, Keys and Custody 7 min

Whoever holds the private key controls the crypto. Lose the key or share it, and the money is gone.

    • Coins, Tokens and Stablecoins 6 min

Coins run their own blockchain, tokens live on someone else's, and stablecoins try to hold a fixed value. Each carries different risks.

  3. 3

    Chapter 3

    Risk and scams

    • The Real Risks 7 min

Crypto can fall 70–80%, platforms can fail, and leverage can wipe you out. Size any exposure accordingly.

    • How Crypto Scams Work 7 min

Fake exchanges, 'guaranteed' staking, pump-and-dumps and wallet drainers are the big four crypto scams.

A look inside: “What Crypto Actually Is”

In this lesson you will

  • Explain a blockchain in plain words
  • Know what gives crypto a price
  • Tell crypto apart from money and shares
Blocks linked into a chain
Three blocks each holding the hash of the previous oneBlock 1001transactions…prev: 9f3a…hash: 4c7e…Block 1002transactions…prev: 4c7e…hash: b21d…Block 1003transactions…prev: b21d…hash: e8f0…

Each block holds a batch of transactions and a fingerprint (hash) of the block before it. Change an old block and its fingerprint changes, breaking every link after it.

Blockchain
A shared record of transactions, linked in blocks.
Market price
Whatever buyers will pay; crypto has no earnings behind it.
